A very exciting opportunity has emerged from study of Ruhi Book 5: Releasing the Powers of Junior Youth!
A team of youth and young at heart adults from Salmon Arm and Kelowna are planning to reach out and connect with families in the communities surrounding the Downtown Activity Centre (DAC). The purpose is to connect with youth and junior youth in the neighbourhood and to establish a junior youth spiritual empowerment program.
Outreach efforts are planned for February 20-22 from 1:30 (meet at Hinman’s) to 6:00 pm and will include prayer, study of relevant guidance, neighbourhood outreach, reflection and dinner. An information gathering for parents of junior youth and youth wanting to learn more about mentoring the younger generation will be held at DAC Friday February 22 from 7-8 pm. This will be followed by a half day Junior Youth Day Camp Saturday afternoon February 23 from 1-4 pm.
The team would greatly appreciate the help of the community in whatever way people would like to, or feel they can, contribute. Some of the ways brought forward at the Feast of Dominion included:
Prayers- saying the Tablet of Ahmad daily or other prayers from the heart
Earmarking funds for youth endeavours
Contributions of food – Contact Carol Hostman (250-833-1890) for details.
Devotions
Firesides
Transportation of youth
With warm appreciation and thankfulness to each and every one.
